What you'll do?
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve SMT equipment breakdowns with minimal downtime.
- Lead preventive maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to TPM schedules and reliability targets.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues and execute quick recovery actions.
Equipment Performance & Monitoring
- Track and report on equipment performance, breakdown rates, and TPM indicators.
- Ensure equipment stability through effective maintenance planning and monitoring.
- Manage spare parts inventory, identify critical spares, and coordinate with vendors for timely availability.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Support new machine installations, setups, and process optimization, including flowchart preparation.
- Collaborate with process engineers on new machine designs and upgrades to enhance production capability.
- Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) and Kaizen projects to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize cost.
- Handle AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) operations and manage line excursions effectively.
Quality & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain EFMEA/PFMEA documents, mitigation plans, and associated action items.
- Support internal and external 8D reports, IATF 16949, VDA, and customer audit requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards in all maintenance and testing activities.
Training & Documentation
- Develop and update SOPs, work instructions, and technical training materials.
- Provide training and guidance to operators and junior maintenance staff on equipment handling and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
Cross-Functional Support
- Provide technical support to Customer Quality, R&D, and NPI (New Product Introduction) teams.
- Collaborate with global teams for knowledge sharing, best practice implementation, and problem-solving.
What will you bring?
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in SMT equipment maintenance and testing in automotive or electronics manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong hands-on skills in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Tools & Systems: Proficiency in AutoCAD, CATIA, UG, Pro/E for design/drawing and layout purposes.
- Maintenance Practices: Experience in TPM implementation, preventive/predictive maintenance planning, and breakdown analysis.
- Spare Parts Management: Ability to identify critical spares, manage inventory, and liaise with vendors for cost-effective procurement.
- Quality & Process Tools: Knowledge of IQRM (Risk Management), Minitab (Statistical Analysis), and SAS (data-driven analysis).
- Compliance Standards: Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific audit requirements.
- Documentation Skills: Strong capability in preparing EFMEA/PFMEA, action plans, SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Openness to travel for supplier visits, equipment commissioning, and cross-site collaboration.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare technical documentation and present findings to global teams.
Preferred Qualification: BE / BTech / ME / MTech in relevant engineering stream
